Welcome to Peter Hobart Elementary!

I am honored to serve as principal of Peter Hobart Elementary and to partner with you in supporting and celebrating your child. I believe every student brings unique strengths, experiences, and brilliance to our school. My responsibility is to create a community where children feel known, valued, challenged, and excited to learn.

Throughout my career, I have worked with students from kindergarten through 12th grade, but I found my heart and home in elementary education. Before becoming Principal at Peter Hobart, I served for three years as an Instructional Coordinator and two years as an Assistant Principal. These experiences strengthened my belief that great schools are built through strong relationships, high expectations, meaningful learning, and genuine family partnership.

My commitment to racial equity is central to why I became a principal. As a half-Japanese, half-White American who studied and lived in Japan, I have experienced how culture and identity shape our sense of connection and belonging. I continue to listen, learn, examine barriers, and ensure students see their identities and experiences valued at school.

This work reflects our district’s mission to see, inspire, and empower each student to achieve academic excellence and live their brilliance. Our Peter Hobart community is stronger because of the perspectives, cultures, experiences, and strengths our students and families bring.

Welcome to Peter Hobart Elementary School! I’m proud to serve as your Assistant Principal and to partner with you as we support every child in our care.

I chose education because elementary school is where students begin to build belonging, confidence, and their identity as learners. This is my 18th year in education, my third year as Assistant Principal at Peter Hobart, and my fifth year in St. Louis Park. Before this role, I spent two years at Park Spanish Immersion as an Elementary Support Supervisor and 13 years in Minneapolis Public Schools as a Licensed School Counselor. These experiences have taught me that children thrive when they feel known, safe, and valued, surrounded by adults who believe in them.

At Peter Hobart, we celebrate diversity and center the whole child. I want every student to know they belong and their voice matters. I focus on building relationships, supporting students through challenges, and helping them solve problems in respectful, restorative ways, while maintaining clear, consistent, and fair expectations.

I also hold high expectations for every student’s academic success and am committed to removing barriers and working alongside families and staff so every student can thrive in a racially equitable learning environment.

I live in the community, and my two children attend St. Louis Park Public Schools, so this work is personal to me. Please say hello and reach out anytime. I’m grateful to be part of this community and look forward to getting to know your family this year.
