Welcome from the Principal


Kari Schwietering was named Principal of Peter Hobart Elementary School on July 1, 2018 after serving as Interim Principal during the 2017-18 school year.

Kari is a graduate of St. Louis Park High School and began teaching in St. Louis Park in 2002. She has also previously served as Director of Students and Assistant Principal of St. Louis Park High School. She holds a teaching degree in special education and reading, as well as Masters in Counseling.

Online Kindergarten Enrollment Now Open

Families looking to enroll a student into St. Louis Park Public Schools for the 2023-24 school year should visit the Enrollment Center website to start the online process. To be eligible for Kindergarten in the Fall of 2022, your student needs to turn 5 by September 1, 2023.

In order to complete the online enrollment form, it will be helpful if you have the following documents saved on the device you are using to complete the form:

  • Student's Birth Certificate
  • Student's Immunization Record
  • Proof of Residency (Utility Bill, Rental Contract, Purchase Agreement, etc.)
  • Early Childhood Screening Record
